With Apologies to Lewis Carroll...
He thought he saw enrichment
in a Global economy:
I looked and saw a ruling class
Playing Monopoly.
"Free Enterprise, or Feudalism
is much the same, you see?"
He thought he saw a Moderate
in a Senate seat.
I looked and saw an Apologist
for Bush's every feat.
"Always vote against your party
and bipartisanship's complete..."
He thought we'd see the end of war
or triumph in Six Months.
I looked and saw he'd said this
monthly and more than once.
"I'll see it through and down the road,
the game we'll win with punts.."
(I intended to steal one of Elton Beard (BusyBusyBusy)'s wonderful screen catches of
Tom Friedman, but my computer skills are rudimentary...)
